Week of December 31 – January 4, 2019
Hello
Sachems! I want to take an opportunity
and officially welcome you back to school and to wish you a happy new
year! I hope you had a great
vacation. As we begin another week, I
hope you took a moment over your time off to reflect on the closing of the
first semester, which is quickly approaching and seeing what you can do to be
sure that you are finishing strong!
Also, I would encourage each of you to begin setting new goals for yourself
as you prepare for the start of the new semester, which will begin on January
30, 2019. We have a very busy week
ahead…so, here we go

- To the members of the Student
Council for hosting an outstanding Holiday Dinner with the residents of
the Conway House. It was a
complete success! Thank you for
making a difference!
- Congratulations to the GSA for
their holiday party and thank you for inviting the school community to
attend. It was a great
celebration!
- Congratulations to Best Buddies
for their great meeting and ginger-bread house party!
- A note to thanks to Eden Eugenio,
Sarah Goss and Maggie Desrosiers for their help in planning the Alumni
College Fair. You were incredible
in the planning!
- To our winter athletes for
outstanding work during the break.
So many of you had practices and games throughout this week. Congratulations on the many victories
this week!! Sachem Pride!
- A special shout-out to the Girls
Basketball Team for winning the Cardinal Spellman Holiday
Tournament. Well done.
- A note to congratulations to
Abbie Wager for setting a new school record and to Cam LaBree for qualifying
for the Division 4 tournament with his personal record. Well done!
- Club
US Meeting – Wednesday, January 2 – 6:30pm
- The next meeting of the Club US
will take place on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at 6:30pm in the MHS
Library. This meeting is very
important as we will brainstorm some changes to a more collaborative
Winter Week celebration in February.
We hope all members can make it.

- Senior
Class Trip to Florida - Very Important Meeting -
January 11
- A special note to all seniors
attending the Senior Class Trip to Florida over April vacation. There will be a very important, but brief
meeting on Friday, January 11, 2019 at 2:00pm in the MHS Library. The reason for this meeting is to do
the room assignments for the trip.
Please make every effort to attend this meeting. Please see me with any questions or
concerns, especially if your status has changed regarding your
participation in the trip. Please
see Mr. Branagan as soon as possible.

- SEMASC
Winter Conference – Thursday, January 10, 2019
- Attention all members of the
Student Council!! Come and be a
part of the Middleborough Delegation attending the Winter Conference at
Wareham High School. This is an
after-school event. Please see Mr.
Branagan for a permission slip and to be a part of the delegation. Space is limited…so, do not miss out!
- MASC
Unified Bocce Tournament – Saturday, January 12, 2019
- Attention all members of the MHS
Student Council and Best Buddies!
Come and be a part of the Fans in the Stands as we cheer on the
Sachems in the annual MASC Unified Bocce Tournament at Walpole High
School.
- Permission slips are located in
the main office. This event is
open to any member of Student Council and/or Best Buddies.

McCarthy with any questions.
- The
Pop-Up Library – January 8
- We are proud to welcome the
Middleborough Public Library with the launch of the Pop-Up Library. You can visit the table in the cafeteria
and borrow books, movies, video games and find out about upcoming programs
at the Public Library. The Pop-Up
Library will be in the cafeteria.

- Book
Club – Monday, January 7
- The next Book Club Meeting will
take place on Monday, January 7, 2019 at 2:00pm in the MHS Library. Please see Mrs. Phillips for more information.
- Middleborough
Science Café – January 10
- The next Science Café will be
held on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 6:00pm in the MHS Library. The focus of the evening will be on the
saltwater terrapin. Please see Mr.
Harris for more information. Hope

- Student
Council Meeting – January 9
- The next meeting of the Student Council
will take place on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at 7:00pm in the MHS
Cafeteria. All members should
attend as we have important planning to do done for Winter Week and
Winter Ball.
- SAVE THE DATE: Winter Ball will be held on Saturday,
February 2, 2019.
